MONTREAL
Montreal is the largest city in the Canadian province of Quebec and the second largest metropolitan area in Canada with a population of 4.1 million. Originally called Ville-Marie, or City of Mary, it is named after Mount Royal, and is also known as the Paris of Canada for its European charm and North American attitude. Montreal has the second-highest number of restaurants per Capita in North America and became the first North American city to have been named a UNESCO City of Design for cultural diversity in 2006.
